BoardFix — AI repair assistant and boardview viewer for electronics repair technicians
BoardFix is for people who repair laptops, phones, consoles and motherboards at component level. A technician opens the board file of the device on the bench, and the assistant answers about that specific board — reading its real parsed components, pins and nets — instead of guessing from general knowledge. It also works without a board file: a symptom described in plain language, or a photo of the board, already gets a structured diagnostic answer. It runs in the browser, including on a phone at the bench.
What technicians use it for
- Dead board, no power: which rails to measure, in what order, and what each reading rules out
- Short circuit on a power rail: locating the shorted part by resistance, voltage injection and thermal methods
- Reading a schematic: finding which controller generates a given voltage and landing on that page of the PDF
- Identifying a chip from its marking and pulling its datasheet
- Liquid damage, charging faults, no display, boot-loop and power-sequence problems
- Questions asked with a photo: a board close-up, a thermal image, or a pinout screenshot
What makes it different from a general AI chat
- Grounded in the actual board. Asked about a rail, the assistant names the nets that really exist on this board.
- Checks itself. Named parts and nets are verified against the board's data before the answer is shown; anything that does not exist on this board is flagged, not passed off as fact.
- Does not invent pin numbers. Where a board format carries no pin numbering, the measuring point is given as "net on part" instead.
- Measurements stay in the chat. The technician types the multimeter reading and gets the next diagnostic step based on the actual value.
Board files and schematics
Opens .brd, .bvr, .bdv, .gr, .cst, .fz, .cad, .tvw, .asc, .bv2 and BoardFix's own .bfx. A .zip, .rar or .7z archive can be uploaded as is. PDF schematics open in a built-in viewer beside the board, and the assistant searches the whole document on its own. Every format is available on every plan, including the free one. BoardFix works with the board files and schematics a technician already has.
Plans
- Free (€0) — 8 AI questions in total, board viewing in all formats, PDF viewer, datasheet database
- Plus (€9.99 per month) — 25 AI questions per day, thinking mode, personal cloud library
- Pro (€19 per month) — 48 AI questions per day
- Max (€48 per month) — 150 AI questions per day
BiosFix is a separate paid service: a BIOS dump read from the chip is analysed, and if it is damaged, the serial number, UUID and MAC are transplanted into a clean official image.
Interface in English, Russian, Latvian, Spanish and Portuguese. The assistant replies in the language of the question.
BoardFix is built and run by a small independent team, operating as a registered sole trader in Latvia. Launched in 2026.
